Pick Your Own
In order to comply with guidelines provided by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and approved by Minister of Agriculture, Ernie Hardeman, we have some new protocols for all of us to follow.
First and foremost, if you are SICK, or UNWELL please stay home, feel better and come visit our farm at another time. This is very important. You may be asked about your health before picking or entering the market. As a courtesy to our farm team, we ask that everyone entering our farm or market area wear a face mask, if you do not have one we have them for sale here at the farm.
We know that picking strawberries has often been a family experience, however, we are asking that you come on your own if possible and certainly keep to your family group. We are a relatively small farm and we cannot accommodate larger groups and safely maintain social distancing.
Upon arrival at the farm, please use the parking areas to the east or west side of the market; Come to the “Pick Your Own” sign at the front of the market and we will get you set up.
Pricing: $5.00/litre (basket included)
Pick-your-own strawberries opens ONE hour BEFORE regular store hours and CLOSES at 4:00 pm every day of the week.
Monday to Saturday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Sunday: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
As has been recommended, strawberries will be sold by volume not weight so as to reduce points of contact and line-ups. We ask that all persons ages 6-96 purchase one of the following sized baskets: 1L, 2L or 3L.
You will be asked to disinfect your hands and then we will take you out to one of our strawberry patches and assign your own row in order to maintain a safe social distance. Please be respectful of other customers and remain in your designated picking area.
Picking time! Don’t forget - some of those strawberries like to hide under the leaves - be gentle with the plants - but look carefully! Fill up those baskets and enjoy the warm sun, the singing birds and the fresh air.
Upon finishing, you can make your way back to your vehicle... Please note that our farm market is open for browsing, with plenty of fresh baking, ice cream and a number of new local, refreshing drinks. Grab a snack so your strawberries will make it home!
We have tried to make this experience as easy as possible for staff and pickers within the government framework. Please give us your feedback at the store before you leave.
We are grateful for your visit and encourage you to come back as the harvesting season progresses. We have more PYO coming soon - raspberries in July and tomatoes in August or September. And of course - Apples!
